Dark summers day

by jason   Nov 10, 2006

On a summer day
when no more rain drops
to wet the clay
and everything is completely
barren and plain

where the only words
that are spoken
come from the minds
of the broken

the lost and the lonely
with the completely confused
along with the ones
who have been beaten and bruised

the only light
that is seen is the end
that is resented
all mistakes lamented

every time one breathes
the sun secedes
behind the trees

no shadows are left behind
as the sky turns dark and gray
a fog thicker then any haze
like a misty grave
a place truly to be afraid

as dead as a cemetery
with barren trees blowing
in the cold ominous breeze

a place where all life
lay slowly dying
withering away
in this dark and gloomy place
on a dark cold mysterious summers day
