A Poem

by jason   Sep 27, 2018

So many things to write
so many thoughts gripping tight

fighting to keep control
keep ahold of a world going cold

on a rickety bridge
old, barely holding onto the mountain ridge

ready to colapse into the darkness
thanks to a reality so heartless

yet outside the sun is shinning
inside a soul is dying

yet the mind keeps denying
all that is wrong,
never abe to escape the feelings that it doesnt belong

attempting to clear visions and kill time
vivid images of happiness and strife
this is the greatest vice
constantly wanting to use a knife

(Not my best work, not suppose to be. Just trying to clear my mind, as it is too scattered right now to write a good poem. I always write for me,but it makes me happy if people enjoy it too.)

Hi Jason, sometimes you need to write like this...get it out, on paper paper to stop it from pinging in your head. Well done-

There are a few tiny little spelling errors, I won't point them out as I'm sure you'll fix them when you reread. Other than that, great poem. Sometimes those quick, spur of the moment poems that were brought on by pure emotions are exactly what we need. They allow us to breathe and release all that pent up tension we've probably held onto for way too long. I can feel that in this poem. Anger and sadness. I enjoyed it, keep it up.

    Hi, Jason.
Life is often overwhelming. It feels like standing on your rickety bridge. Fear and confusion can blight the sunniest of days.
Writing allows release for that mental baggage. Hopefully this frees enough space to see the sun again.

    Good luck.
