Little Things

by DarkPoetess   Nov 11, 2006

The greatest guy couldn't see
That he was slowly hurting me
He didn't know, I could tell
What was making my eyes with tears swell

It was fine for awhile
He could always make me smile
Even now he still can
But I'm missing part of my man

I love the little things
To me more love they bring
Hug of greeting in the morn
The offer of his coat to keep me warm

They make my day
Don't know what else to say
Hold my hand for no reason
Watch with me the change of seasons

Just for a moment can't I be special
Separate us from all the hassle
Call me to whisper 'good night'
Hold me when it's not alright

I need the little things
Like being told I'm his everything
Sweet 'I love you's' in my ear
Without prompt and so sincere

I don't want to be a burden
Is it too much to ask of a boyfriend
Can't he let me know I'm loved
Just the little things are enough

Oh this is so sweet some people have a problem about declaring their love for you.I think personally if they have never been told as kids there loved all the time it is difficult for them to express it. I tell my six kids everyday I se them that I love them and they tell me.Well i cheated there not kids anymore there adults but have always done so

A very sweet poem about the little things. So true how we love them and want them. Good job!
