Your Friend

by DarkPoetess   Feb 21, 2007

Your friend stands alone
Yet surrounded by a crowd
Their ignorance has cut her to the bone
Still silent she remains, too proud

Gardens guard her broken heart
She weeps in lonely silence
Dreading this pain from the start
She still gave her full compliance

See her writing on the wall
Standing in your way
Telling tales of tears that fall
What is she trying to say

A black rose has already grown
To cover her new healed scars
Where bitter memories were sown
Should have seen it in the cards

Your friend stands before you
Wishing somehow you would see
She has this little thing for you
That friend of yours is me
