Wax Butterflies2 {Shakespearean Sonnet}

by xTheEcstasyOfSuicidex   Nov 15, 2006

Wax butterflies glitter in the air,
As the sun beats down upon,
Turning proudly but with care,
They sparkle in the light of dawn.
Joyous pleasure fills their heart,
For they are happily for content,
Resting on flowers, the joyous taste of tart,
The wings so soft are slowly bent.
Nothing is perfect it does prove,
Deformed have become our butterflies,
Wings beat but do not move,
As these creatures shriek and cry.
Molting wax butterflies in the sun melt;
You must deal with the cards you are delt.

    Ooo. I like this. It has a deeper meaning that I like a lot. A kind of dark meaning, but in a different way...if you understand what I'm trying to say. =P

    I liked the style. I haven't seen many sonnets on this site, and I have always adored the Shakspearean style. It's original to his part, and it works out quite nicely. The flow was good, but I thought there was one line that was a little off. But no one's perfect. =)

    One mistake I noticed:
    [Nothing is perfect it does {proove},]
    ^^Correction: {prove}

    Well done. I always love reading your poems, and I'm looking forward to commenting on some more. =) 5/5 xoxo
