Migration

by LadyPearl   Nov 16, 2006

My bones, like the frozen spheres
of winter. Chatter against the empty
hollowness of the bleak color white.
Though some may find love within
the barren trees and dangling ice,
I find nothing but sorrow--
In a portrait where the sun is dull
and colors are erased to portray
a winterland scene.

The birds fade away as I still wait
every morning for their song
Locked up inside a cubicle
far away from the chills
that continually...prick my spine
While the sky whithers behind grey clouds
Dear winter, shine, shine upon my vacant
soul, save me for it has flown away along
with robins and jays seeking summer again
