Broken trust

Everyone follows a golden rule
mine is crystal clear.
Trust no one except yourself
it helps ease the pain.
I broke my rule more than once
each time my heart is crushed.
I broke my rule for my friend
who i thought i could depend.
I broke my rule for my family
everything i do ends in tragedy.
I broke my rule for my heart
now everything is torn apart.
I broke my rule lots in a week
now i need some help.
I broke my rule too often
so i closed my heart.
I broke my rule for myself
now I'M broken.

    An interesting style, i really liked it up to the last few lines where i think the 'flow' cuts and the meaning starts to waver a bit, defo don't like the last line either. But the first few lines are really gripping and nicely wrote =)
