The Soul

With your strength
You can buy my body;

With the pain
You can make me weak...

You can upturn my smile,
And stifle my laugh,
Or take that from me
Which I cannot get back-

But my mind is mine
And mine alone;
and these words
Are not your's to speak.

I've said it once and
I'll say it again,
Don't flatter yourself
That I can't take this pain.

So break in my body,
Get under my skin
For my soul is mine and
mine alone...

You will NEVER TAKE IT FROM ME.

    Impressive. You do a masterful job of describing the inner fight you would have of not letting something consume you and overtake your body, mind, or soul. It would be very easy to give in to such doubts and let something have control over you. It is very easy to see what a strong willed person you are from your writing. To use such beautiful words to describe such a terrible event is simply amazing.
