Memento

by Nora   Nov 24, 2006

Once upon a moonlit night
inside I dared to start a fight
I pulled up one red lovely rose
and tore it to secure I chose

too late now I understand
the pain and blood ran down my hand
were like the writing on the wall
you see the signs before you fall

it’s your scraping, scratching at my door
the creepy footsteps on the floor
and screaming downright from your core
that I will hear forevermore

next night when the moon was full
and northern wind blew cold, not cool
I asked you take a walk with me
to darkened nature, wild and free

left you standing in that place
where devils dance and shadows race
your blood ran cold, weak ran your will
see, watch, chase, get, torture, kill

it’s your crying, dying voice so sore
the tearing of the cloth you wore
and sounds I never knew before
that I will hear forevermore

Your words contain a powerful emotion. From it I gathered you spoke of regret, where the provoking action persisted to haunt you.
