Broken Mirror

by Miranda   Nov 27, 2006

In this mirror in front of my
I see nothing but a broken little girl
A girl very down and depressed
She can't take the reality of the world

Her tear stained face
Tells stories of heartbreaks and goodbyes
The many cuts on her wrists
Tells that she wants to die

But her deep blue eyes
Says that she once was free
She used to play with other kids
At one point she was happy

She would play Hide N Seek
And swing at the park
Play tag in the backyard
Until it got dark

Her parents, yes they loved her
But a broken family, it was
Her dad couldn't be there
And her mother couldn't trust

Daddy was crazy
In a mental hospital, he stayed
Mommy was strict
Never let her have her way

But the girl didn't care
Weren't all families like this?
She was still happy
And lived in bliss

But as the girl grew older
Her eyes lost all cheer
She realized how cruel the world was
Which eventaully brought her here...

She no longer talks to daddy
He's crazy... and it's frightning
Mommy always yells and fights
She wishes to just be hit by lightning

She began to do drugs
Taking more each day
She's throwing her life away
Lost inside a neverending maze

She cuts herself each night
Praying for the courage to hit a vein
Her parents make her sad
Of her, her friends are ashamed

Her life is going down the drain
Everything is falling apart
Her friends are drifting away
And every boy she likes breaks her heart

She no longer is happy
She looks like the dead; just awoken
I turn around and look away
I figure the mirror must be broken
