It was an accident

by laura anne   Dec 7, 2006

Gun safety is important.

A lifeless boy lies on the floor
A ring of scarlet surrounds him.
A simple pastime of dare,
Turned into a tragic game.
A dark closet, a shoe box
And a tall chair to stand on.
The little dare devil never lost anything.
Only his life, he lost this time.
He grabbed the shoe box,
Pulled out the gun,
Brought it to his brother
To show again that he had won.
Big brother tells him to put it back
And the little brother goes back to the room.
A couple minutes pass
Big brother hears a click, click boom
A lifeless boy lies on the floor
A ring of scarlet surrounds him.
