Its Over

by Marc Carlson   Dec 9, 2006

The phone rings
The echo of the ring is wretched
Before he picks it up, a feeling of anguish disperses through his body
He knew what it was before the words came out
Holding himself together he thanks the caller
Then he hangs up the phone
The room begins to spin
He falls to the floor
The tears start falling like a waterfall
His world is crumbling before him
This devastated soul is lost in feelings
Trembling with every movement
A feeling of hopelessness passes through him
For a while after word he is withdrawn from the world
His heart is frozen over like a lake in winter
He is cold to everyone he knows and disconnects himself
Friends come to consol him, but he is too far gone
Heavy hearted he continues on but will never be the same
For he has lost the love of his life
He visits her and his children daily
Begging god he wants the trade places
But it is too late, and he can only hope his dieing heart heals
