As the truth settles in

by Marc Carlson   Dec 27, 2007

As the truth settles in
Like a stone finally resting on the ocean flour
He can feel his depression coming in
Like night comes on a sunny day
He thought he was ready for it
He thought he would be able to handle it
But in truth he know he would not be able to
His heart is dieing a little each day
Loving her was something that made his life better
She changed his life for the better
She found him a lost puppy, crying for help
And she left him a young pup, heading in a great direction
There love was unexplainable
It was truly amazing
He still loves her and will do anything for her
He does not ask why anymore
He does not ask how
He just wishes for another shot
Another shot at love
Another shot at what he thinks is true love
Another shot at an amazing connection
But whether or not that happens in the future
He has much to prove
To prove to himself, to her, and to the world
To prove he can and will improve himself
And then, and only then he will deserve it
Deserve love, deserve her, and deserve a connection that is truly unexplainable
