My Hollow Palace

by Midnight Sun   Dec 10, 2006

In this hollow place
My pen in hand
I write in the dark
I take a stand

I come to this "palace"
Just to get away
If it was possible
Here I'd forever stay

It brings me comfort
When I feel grief
Taking one breath here
Fills me with relief

Many see it empty
Only hollow halls
Instead of being captured
They stumble and fall

They see rubble and dirt
They see weeds not vines
But I do not care
For this place is mine

I fear the day it falls
For this is my home
But never in my mind will it
For I remember each stone

This place is my inspiration
It's my strength and my might
It warms my deepest parts
On winter's coldest nights

So maybe you too
Could one for you create
For it can be your haven
And help you escape

This was really good. Very descriptive, and detailed. Amazing imagery. & I , as well, agree with what Dave said. It is funny. And everyone should have a place like this.. Lol, even though. I don't! But, bleh.

I didn't quite get the very last line:

And it could one for you create

I loved your opening to this one. It immediantly set the scene and tone for what the rest of the poem would be.
    Nicely done =)
    5/5 as always
