Knowing Too Soon

by LadyPearl   Dec 12, 2006

Welcome broken roses and wandering bards
Welcome to my threshold, where knowledge is pain
Step through these doors, where minds are left charred
Here lie a dark world, something so hard to attain

We're young and restless, seaching beyond
Yet what we reach and find cause a complex disease
Knowing was something we were all so fond----of
Until we smelled the pungent aroma of death's breeze

Far too soon, knowing what most could not survive
A globe pumping hate and charcoal confusion
Finally realizing where carcasses are kept alive
Finally believing the light was only an illusion

Another great write. Glad you entered my Christmas Contest. I've just been introduced to a poet who's writing I relate to.

Loved the imagery in this one. Broken Roses and Wandering Bards. Wonderful.

    Fantastic.
You portray your emotions so very well in this one. As a writer, you have a way of writing deeper emotions than some and it shows up in your poems which to me makes them even more amazing.
You had a wonderful flow and excellent vocabulary.
Though I agree I don't know why you have the "----" in there?? I don't know, maybe it's me.
Wonderful job overall, keep it up! 5/5

Wonderful write. I really like your poems, you have a lot of talent. The flow was good as well as the structure. However, I don't know why you used,
"----" in that one line, you don't need it. Great Job overall.
