The gloss shines brightly on your lips
Your golden hair hangs about your shoulders
Your silky dress clings to your hips

Your eyes light up with joy
Your mouth a timid smile
And you blush for your lover boy

Our eyes lock together
The song blasts on
Leaving seconds like forever

The moment ends and your gone
I think about life without you
And realize it is too long

It is how you smile everyday
Find the best in the worst
Cheering me up along the way

Even though I love you Katie
I know deep inside myself
That you would never date me

The sun kisses your beautiful face
And I die a little more inside
Because I know that I am 2nd place

    I didn't see that ending coming...I thought the ending was going to be happy...
    I liked the rhyme scheme you used, I don't think I have read any of your's with this rhyme scheme before.
    Flow was good throughout, the pain and emotion are clear for the reader to see and the imagery is beautiful.

    You did an amazing job with this poem. I have a poem named 2cd place. haha. it's totally different, is a love poem though.

    I loved this poem, a lot. The emotion, flow, rhythm, and rhyming were perfect.
