The saftey's Run

by Hope Bound Heart   Dec 14, 2006

The grass is green
French fries fill the crowd
the game has begun
the home team is loud

On the 20 they go
On the snap count of 3
The quarter back pitches
And the back breaks free

Out running his blockers
The back goes outside
But the safety moves up
A touchdowns denied

The ball is snapped
The Q.B rolls out
The wide receiver's open
For the ball he shouts

The ball is in the air
This games end is near
The boys back at home
Reach for a beer

Everyone anticipates
For the players reception
The safety comes out of no where
For his greatest interception

He hits the ground running
For the end zone he goes
Marching the ball up the field
Dodging his foes

He jukes a tackle
He stiff arms his defender
The safety moves on
Never to surrender

Then he nears the 20
The 15 and the 10
He leaps for the goal line
Dodging a tackle again

He soars with grace
From the 3 yard line
He reaches the end zone
a feeling so fine

The fans go crazy
His name they start chanting
wheres this kid from
He replies "The Big Apple In Canton"
