Freedom

by Chloe   Dec 15, 2006

These chains are feeling so tight now,
Wearing away at my skin.
Like an angel trapped in a metal cage,
Its wings beginning to wear thin.
A crowd gathers around,
Pointing and commenting upon the view,
Saying 'You'll never make it',
And 'Ha! Just look at you'
But its ok coz she remembers,
Every word muttered out of their mouths
Storing it for future use,
When she'll be soaring above the clouds.
And as the days get colder,
And the nights get lonlier,
Things will get a little tough,
But an angel has never been souless,
No matter how much life gets rough.
She can hang on through the winter,
And all those depressive days,
In patience of freedom,
And living her life in better days.
Dreams are the key which will release her,
Tear at the metal clasps,
Give her the freedom she desires,
As the angel and I take our lives, on a different path.
