Killing What is left

by Ashley Van Eperen   Dec 16, 2006

So wild runs a broken heart
A melody of tears
A need to learn to say good bye
and not return for many years

A yearning to escape this life
And the wicked grasp it holds
To be somewhere inside a place
Of which no one else may know

Some times i dream of sunsets
And running to them i go
Through a field of golden emptiness
Where wild flowers grow

I lay out side for hours
As the clouds wash over me
Forming things so innocent
That fade away with ease

And at the end of each day
In all the evening stars
I sit there in my loneliness
To mend my shattered heart

And every now and then
I begin to cry
I dream of you to share this with
And some times wonder why

For i have yet to love someone
As much as I have you
And sitting here in the emptiness
Is all I have left to do

So young an angel falls in love
Unable to forget
The emptiness creeps up inside
Killing what is left.
