Make Believe

by Thoughtless Consideration   Dec 16, 2006

I wish I could read your mind-
Have you ever thought about me?
Do you love me like I love you-
Am I all that you see?
It's obvious the answer's no,
But I'll make believe that you love me.
It's all that I've got anyways,
All that's left for me to believe.
I'll write stories of you sweeping me off my feet,
I'll sing songs about your eyes and your hugs.
I'll daydream constantly,
I'm just addicted to you like a drug.
I'll pretend you're here, sitting next to me.
I'll pretend I'm the twinkle in your eyes.
The spark beneath that smile.
The red in those cheeks,
The magic in that laugh-
I'll act like I'm science, and you're math.
You're all I've ever needed,
But do you even know who I am?
Maybe this isn't worth it,
Maybe this isn't worth the fear-
He told me you weren't worth my tears.
But you're worth more than me,
You're worth the world.
But to somebody that special-
Why would you care about me?
Some pathetic love sick girl?
