So Long House of Awe

by Pygmalion   Dec 19, 2006

So long, house of awe
House of laughter and of hope
I was cradled to the dawn
Through crying nights so forlorn

Well, you pulled me to your throne
Stood forsaken at the top
And once reached the heaven quarters
Once again, residing alone

So long, house of awe
Has it been since you were here
Passing winds have taken part
And have taken you from my heart

Hell is so near and paradise so bright
Yet my shroud is still unused
When will I feel the shrapnels of sin
And the tunnel with all the light

Goodbye, house of show
All the people have long gone home
The flowers of your higher powers
Will still blossom in their homes

Sweet idol, will you wear
All these blood-stained uniforms
Or will you ever point back down
To those infidels below

Signs of end and dreams of fear
Have crossed my mind for many years
And they'll still hold me prisoner
As long as I hold them dear

Farewel, sign of hope
Sign of miracles and despair
Will the rain ever stop hurting
Or will it follow its maker's path

So long, house of awe
House of trembling and of pain
You have brought all efforts down
Of one little man in vain

And all I know is pain
