Gruesome Night

by Madison   Mar 26, 2004

The yelling permeates the room,
The smell of smoke all around
She covers her virgin ears
And crouches up in a ball on the ground.

The yelling is getting louder,
As cries fill the air
She tries to image a far away land
But the pain she can not bare.

This is nothing new to her
It happens every night
Though this time was different
A more gruesome fight

Plates hitting the ground
That gave her quite a fright,
She knew if she just stays in her room being a good girl
She might survive though the night.

I mean what else is a 7 year old to do,
She can't win this fight
So she sits back and watches
Until that one night

There was a boom,
That's shook the house with her inside
She ran out of her room
And was terrified to see what was there to find.

A painful high-pitch scream
Her mother on the ground
The murder weapon in the hands of her dad,
As he turned around

He panicked
Picked up the gun
Pointed it at the little girl
And in a second, she was gone

I mean what else was a 7 year old to do,
On that terrible night
She stood back in fear
And let her own father take her life.
