Best Friend to a Stranger

by TheWorldFellNUWerentThere   Dec 21, 2006

I don't know what happened
Between us
I don't know how that
Thick black line
Was drawn between you and me

That brick wall
That just buildt overnight
Blocking your whole world off from me
You on the inside
Me on the outside

I felt so alone
I felt so afraid
I didn't know what to do
Or what to say to passerbys
As I sat by your locked door

Should I just say
My best friend kicked me out
I didn't know what I did wrong
I didn't know what I said
She just locked me out of her world

I wanted to become like you
I wanted to know how to get guys like you could
I wanted to walk the walk
And talk the talk
All I ever wanted to be is accepted by you

You're happier with your friends
And laughing at my pain of losing you
As you look down over your high wall you buildt between us
You looking down at me
Me looking up at you

Was it because I wasn't skinny enough
Or I wasn't pretty enough
May it been because I'm into books
And poetry
Or was it because I'm totally different

I don't know what I did wrong
Or what I said
All I know is all I worked hard to be
Is ruined
Because overnight my best friend became a stranger to me

You know what? i'm gonna laught hysterically now, and then slowly my laughter will turn into hysteric cries, because this is more than just real to me, so, my advice, kick her @$$ girl, now, when its not to late, because, a few years into the future ur gonna wish you did! trust me on this one!

Work a bit on the flow of your poem and the structure of the sentences, but the meaning behind the poem was good. Nice job.

  • Very interesting, the structure && flow wasnt too good but the story behind it was great, & i could relate to it... keep up the work
