there not much money
and being the age I am

without her saying a word
money is tight

or a fancy new computer

theres no denying I would like them
love them even
but I have all I need

curled in my lap
who likes marshmallows
and bendy straws
I have the snow falling in the window beside me

of seeing my friends smile
and the joy of hearing them laugh

when I go back to school
my friends
will all be in new clothes

being without

because I have hot chocolate
on a cold winters night
and good book
curled up on the couch
with a nice blanket
because I have a nice bath
full of hot water
and bubbles
to cower in when stress over whelms me

volunteering at an old folks home
and the ime I spent playing with two year olds
just because I could
I get to flaunt this cross necklace around my neck
and my second year saved

My friends have the gadgets
but I
I have a much simpler gift
I have the gift of expiriencing true christmas
to expirience the best gifts anyone
could ever give
