Twas the Night Before Christmas (my edition)

by Thorn Lovely Dead And Lonely   Dec 21, 2006

Twas the night before Christmas
And I just wanted to say
That I cannot wait
Until Christmas day

My heart has been aching
And my body's been sore
My mind although rattled
Is out of answers anymore

I've been missing you dearly
Dreaming of you each night
And as I wake in the morning
I envision what's right

I've been working and fighting
In school studying
Hoping on Christmas
You'll be there for me

A question resounding
From each friend I hear
"What should we buy you
For Christmas this year?"

My answer's the same
To each person I know
"What do I want for Christmas?
Well heck if I know"

When in truth only one thing
Will make my Christmas great
To be with you for a while
But this might be delayed

Over many miles
And quite rough terrain
Has left me each morning
Calling your name

So if you're to ask
What I want for Christmas this year
I want to wake up Christmas morning
And somehow find out you're near

Merry Christmas
