Icy Depths of the Sea

by Jackie*   Dec 24, 2006

She walks along the bridge,
that overlooks the sea.
She's tired of feeling trapped,
she longs to be free.
Free from the torture,
free from the pain,
free from the obsessions
that drive her insane.
She stares down at the water,
it's as black as the night sky.
A tear hits the ground,
as she starts to cry.
She can't handle the pressure,
it's more than she can take.
She steps closer to the edge,
putting her life at stake.
She's given up on trying,
she knows she'll always fail.
She closes her eyes & leans forward
and loosens her grip on the rail.
She takes a deep breath,
then she lets herself go.
She falls into the icy depths
of the sea below.
Her body hit the water
with a big impact.
Life left her instantly
as every bone in her body cracked.
She sunk down into the darkness
of the ice cold sea.
She finally got her wish,
she was finally set free.
