My Rope

by Jamie   Dec 24, 2006

"My Rope"

At the beginning of my life everything was right.

The I met you on a cold, dark night.

For forever means getting on the train of life.

Where life pulls I go, such is my sad, sad story

The world might hear it, but you are so close to the center of the earth

That it is muffled for you.

I know you can't pull yourself up,

All I can do is watch as you drown.

As I smile to myself I hear you scream,

"Help me" oh "Help me", it pierces my heart.

But I know you will never touch my soul again

For you are my rope," the end where you jump off the train".

Why do you whisper to people as you do to me every night?

You ruin lives, break families.

I realize this know, but I was blind

"Oh, God, how could I have been so blind?"

but I am not stupid as I feared, you just had the rope around my eyes.

Then I couldn't say anything because you had the rope around my eyes.

Then I couldn't say anything for you had the rope around my mouth.

I couldn't breath because you were choking the life from me.

So why do you sit there and bleed and yearn for me?

Your pain that ruins nations

Were you the kid who was born and fell off the train of life

Who fell on your head and lived?

Are you walking around with a crushed skull waiting for someone to help you?

Is that why you scream my name?

I can't help you.

The answer you choose to my questions

I pray someone isn't suffering from the one pain they caused you.

For the one pain prick you felt doesn't

Add up to the torture you cause me day in and day out

Today I am alive. Tomorrow when I fight against you again you are dead
