Roots

by Chris Rodriguez   Dec 24, 2006

Power through words and scriptures
Doesn't make you a king among gods
Look at yourself through reflections not pictures
The past can't tell us who we are
Journeys of past warriors hold roots
To interpret these unlocks the truth
Time is an invisible poison
Dripping in all mortal veins
With the right sight you can see the stains
Life without pain is birth without reason
To find out, to understand who I really am
And like nothing else we waste away
Step out that door to make this our day
Where are you from?
The roots of your past
Where the water once touched the sun
And the desert and mountains were one
Through me runs these truths, my roots, it soots
But together we learn how the battle was won
Nations all ablaze
Hoping that their savior will come one day
Believe in me now that the savior is not one
Our generation is the hope of the world
In us is the roots and in us it will always flow
