A Time Was Once

A time was once when I would see
Things only as they seemed to be
But times have changed and so have I
I'm not the girl who once was shy
I've learned a lot in one short year
I've learned to love, I've learned to fear
My heart's been torn by love untrue
No tears did help to make it through
I thought my love was great for he
I thought his love as great for me
I followed my heart and now I know
The heart can lead where none should go
But I followed it still, I really dared
And a time was once when I really cared.
