Gothic

Look at that girl
the one with the dyed black hair
the one with the fishnet gloves
the one with the spikes on her hands
the one with a dog collar on her neck
the one dressed in black
the one listening to heavy metal
the one with piercings in her ears
the one with black fingernails
the one with black make-up on
the one with a face of stone

they say that goth is a subculture
a group of misfits
people who are free-thinkers
and are not prejudice
whether it be sexuality/race/religion
goths are people

last year i wouldve said i was goth
then i learnt...
theres no need for labels
so i stopped saying i was goth
and everyone else said it
very slowly i started to change
without realising it
but only on the inside

i no longer wanted to be labeled
and i stopped labeling others
but i didnt change my looks
i tried to
i started to
but i couldnt see the point

i feel comfortable in black
i like my nails black
i love my hair black
and i like my make-up black
i got rid of the spikes
i threw out the fishnets
and my music style changed

so maybe i am goth
or maybe im just an idiot
but i know this for sure

i am true to myself
