Insanity is Bliss

by holly   Jan 1, 2007

She stands on the footpath,
a smile on her face.

takes out her tambourine,
presses play on the tape machine.

as the music starts to play,
she begins to dance.

People are passing by,
glancing at this crazy lady.

No one wants to catch her gaze
and no one cares about her.

This little old lady,
dancing in the street

To some shes a problem that must be solved,
a deterrent to the tourists

But oblivious to stares
she continues dancing.

She's lost in her own world.
Insanity is bliss.

It actually is based on a lady where i live.
shes got some sort of mental illness and she just spends her time dancing on the street.
She dosent care what people think
she is literally lost in her own world.

It was a good poem, I wish you made it longer :) Just a suggestion to use more imagery in it :) or some metaphors.

But anyway I enjoyed reading it. Keep up the good work.
