Cause nobodys real

by ENTROPY   Jan 3, 2007

It was a slow death
i watched her take her last painful breath
you try to see
what she wanted to be
i should be dreaming
your face is beaming
the photo brings me back
to when we stayed on track
when we followed the rules
showed up at school
got the best grades
worked without pay
rose above
fell in love
believed all the lies
when all we wanted to do was stay alive
have a good time
never commit a crime
nothing lasts
your mind is stuck in the past
when people were trusted
ledges were dusted
pills were swallowed cause you were ill
a soda was the only thing you wanted chilled
worry free nights
no family fights
no drunk drivers
watching the Olympic divers
always getting by
never getting high
no thoughts about the disappearing ozone layer
before you went to bed you said your prayers
(you said your prayers)

theres nothing left
theres nothing left
donâ??t worry about it , you need rest
donâ??t worry about it, you need rest

were the new society
are you dieting?
have you lost weight
make my day
what are you on
party till dawn
swallow your problems
donâ??t try to solve them
hotbox your car
sneak into the bar
leave all you passion and hope
learn to cope
were in the new age
her death was staged
shes only gone on the inside
who cares, shes getting by
so are you
i am too
but that doesnâ??t make things matter
or make your life less tattered
or help you live
or raise good kids
to have a happy life,
or have a husband, not a wife
believe in yourself
play the cards your dealt
nothing gets better, nobody cares
on your face is a blank stare
(cause nobodyâ??s real)

so swallow your words, forget what your told
so swallow your words, forget what your told
after all , were not getting younger, were getting old
after all , were not getting younger, were getting old
