Pretend to Be Fine

by Tasha   Jan 5, 2007

Don't walk towards me with that look of promise,
For I know that it is all just a big sham.
I know what is really behind those eyes.
Doubt, and a false sense of hope for life.

As you walk around pretending everything is alright,
When the truth is, you're falling apart.
You are on the edge of a breakdown,
And you can't help but pretend.

With pain flowing through your eyes,
I can feel your sorrow,
Yet you will never admit to it,
For you build up your wall to seem strong.

Though you fool everyone that surrounds you,
I can detect the carelessness that exists.
As you begin to disappear,
And drift off into the routine that takes us all.

As you break apart bit by bit,
I am there picking the pieces all up.
But if you ever expect to be whole again.
You have to be willing to let me help you. -
