The Unknown

by Kris Lynn   Jan 7, 2007

Depths that can't be reached and stories that remain untold.
All the time that was lost filled with emotions hard to hold.

Knowing what is right and believing in what you feel.
Yet fighting all of the wounds that are still trying to heal.

I can't seem to find a way to juggle the joy and pain.
So happy everything is new yet sad nothing is the same.

I'm not sure just what to do to make everything right again.
It's as though I'm fighting a battle, afraid I'll loose, but scared to win.

I guess the outcome has to be a mystery. We must simply hope for the best.
And when it is all said and done, only then will we know if we passed the test.

Hey, Christina, how's life treating you?
This poem is brilliant. Structurally sound, and it flows beautifully. You call the poem The Unknown- and indeed, your words take one to a precipice, stopping short where nothing more need be said. In short, it's beautiful.
