Heartbroken

by Natalie Reget   Jan 7, 2007

A crack, down the middle of something that was a whole,
A clasp, clinging to it\'s only stronghold.
A tear, seeping out of her closed eye.
A fate, will she live...or die?
Never again should she love him,
But she holds on, if only for a whim.
Her friends tell her of her mistake,
They make her think of what is at stake.
But I understand, I feel her pain.
I feel her heartbreak, and her disdain.
I feel her tears, and her lack of a token,
Because I, too, have been heartbroken.
