Recollections

by Twisted Heart   Jan 8, 2007

Into the depths of darkness
I sadly walk alone
Among the burning ashes
of a love that's dead and gone.

Inside a heart that's tortured
And consumed by death's own hand
A soul is pained with hunger
By the love that didn't stand.

A kiss was only lasting
In the heat of just a dream
Forever was the thinking
of the mind or so it seemed.

But tokens of a longing
Came to breath that fateful day
It took away the faith and hope
By games that people play.

Now sitting in the sadness
Of the changing of the times
Remembered of the fading
That left the soul behind.

Beautiful. i was wondering, do you use a specific rhyme scheme...like every line has so many syllables, because you are consistent with your flow. It's amazing how easy your poems are to read.
