The end of the shortest "forever"

by Jenny   Jan 9, 2007

Punish the sinners, so punish us all
Take the words that I say
and wait for the stall
I will always have a price to pay
For what I say is not always what I really mean.
Those little pauses in between are at times obscene
and can be translated as a dark lie,
but I know what lies deep down inside.
I've let it all pass me by,
but, I'm sorry, I don't come with a guide
You can't read about me and know who I am
What you see isn't always what you get,
but I can tell you if you let me know that you even give a damn
I've changed from the day we met because nothing is always definitely set.
As drastic as I can be
I have my reasons for what I do
I'm very complicated as you can see
and if you can't tell, then you just learned something new.
If I reach out and you reach back
then there is nothing that our friendship could possibly lack,
but if I hold my hand out
and your eyes show me some doubt
then I'll retract and let you go
because I don't want someone that just doesn't know.
You'll either take me seriously or you won't
It all comes down to whether or not you care
You either do or you don't.
As unfair as it is, I need to know if you'll be there
When my world is dark and cold
I need to know that I'll have my friend to hug and hold.
Words are fake and still they mean more than I would want them to
Actions speak louder, but can be mistaken for the truth.
The unspoken words are known all too well,
but the more we keep it to ourselves the easier it will be to say farewell.

Thank you for being my friend even IF it isn't going to be till the end.
