Playing with Shadow

by Arunansu   Jan 11, 2007

Wishing shadows could
put in the picture
giving touching perceptions
to some rotten theories
a few elapsed memories
and stockpiled dreams
than merely
dancing on the wall.
Hopping around the defiant gleam
of a deserted candle flame,
forming articulated figures
as if some spiteful fate
in the lit-up setting
is being amused in watching
- an evil game.

At times I engage myself
in a shadow play with
my feelings
when wishes swim like
little herrings
Love reminds me of its meaning
Flying with flair
waving wings in air
Till it is held captive
inside the enlarged frame
of insatiable desire
Hope still lingers
within claw of fingers
showing intense fervor-
At time jitters
as the lone blaze flickers
edgily in protest
of a mute Spectator.
