Winter's Day

by debbylyn   Jan 12, 2007

Winter's soul impeccable
Impermeable laden eyes
Woeful blast of crystal tears
Falling gray icicle skies

Sun an impotent memory
Melts not the glacial soul
Buried past, frozen hearted
Cleaves fast to lacquered floe

Windswept the barren haven
Holds frosty tenacious rime
Landscape summons relics
Where entombed Spring abides

Persistent chill adheres the wall
Fervent bleak sanctuary holds
Hope's in contempt eternal
Of Winter's insolent role
