Observations

by sweetiepie18   Jan 13, 2007

We look at those around us,
but never really see,
not the woman who cries herself to sleep at night,
nor the vulnerable old lady too afraid to answer the door

we look at the images on our TV screens, and yet we stay blind.
we don't see all that poverty,
so why should we really mind??

we look at those we love,
but we never really see,
not the tears of a sister behind closed doors,
nor the scars from all those wars.

when people look at me,
what do you think they see?

life is full of observations, but we never really take the time to stop and look.

I like the style used for this write. the repetitiveness forces us to awcknoledge the feeling portrayed.
