Drowning the Tears

by TimidOutburst   Jan 13, 2007

She gets in the shower
Still fully dressed
To drown out the pain
That steals her rest

Each tear she cries
Slips down the drain
While she tries to forget
In her homemade rain

No matter what she does to hide
Other signs show through
Telling her it's permanent
There's nothing left to do

The quivering in her soul
Is from the inside out
The shower only blurs
Deep-seeded lines of doubt

Though the faucets turned off
And the water's all gone
Her clothes stick to her
Like her life gone wrong.

And this poem is the reason why you won =)
You're both hugely talented and this poem clinched it.
The whole imagery and metaphors in this piece give it a coating of realism that so many people can relate to.
    I know i can
