I believe in angels

by Natalie Oldham   Jan 13, 2007

I believe in angels...
This poem is about the side effects if drink driving

Mum and dad...

I knew I shouldn't have done it,
I'd only had a few,
I didn't think that same night,
I would be leaving you.

You always used to say,
Don't drink and drive,
I wish that I had listened,
I might have escaped with my life.

I'm sorry for what I did,
But, please, don't cry,
I cannot bear to see your faces,
As your tears go dry.

I wish that I could hug you again,
To take away the pain,
I know I will see you again,
Somehow, someday.

Maybe you'll come to heaven too,
And give me that one kiss,
The one I got before bed time,
The only thing I miss.

I will make it up to you one day,
Really make you proud,
Maybe when you join me,
High up in the clouds.

Remember this one mum,
No matter where you go,
Me, your gaurdian angel,
Will always follow.

Tell everyone I miss them,
Think about them each day,
I feel much better,
Now I know your all okay.

I knew I shouldn't have done it,
I'd only had a few,
I just can't wait,
Until god reunites me with you.
