Why

Tradegy

This poem is about child abuse, and proves it is not on the outside, but what is on the inside that counts

Look in the mirror,
What do you see ?
I see a frightened child,
Inside of me.

All the hurt and the grief,
I just can\'t let it out,
I know its on the inside,
Not the outside that counts.

At school, I\'m the poor kid,
Yes, thats my nickname,
I used to be the popular one,
But now nothing is the same.

It was the day my mummy left me,
Dad told me she\'d gone to heaven,
I did not understand,
I was only seven.

My daddy always hurts me,
I know that hes just mad,
He has hard days at work,
That, I understand.

I hear him crying in the night,
Hes in pain too,
But, I guess in the end, hes not different,
Just like me and you.

And, one day he did move on,
To a different place,
Although he did abandon me,
I still see his face.

I went into a care home,
There I was well fed,
Forgot about my daddy,
Untill I found out he was dead.

It didn\'t bother me that much,
I didn\'t scream and shout
\'Cos all the pain that was inside me,
Has already been let out.

I look into the mirror,
And guess what I see,
I see a more confident child,
The one inside of me.
