Quiet Serenade (part 1)

by Chris Rodriguez   Jan 16, 2007

Revolving around a broken moon
Kiss me quick I may be gone soon
On the soil of my parents born
Rejecting promises made in which I've sworn for

Listen carefully with brittle ears
Crying out, so sweatily rejected
She is there unneeding and needed
How I wish to separate that side from myself

To pull the trigger not to take away
To release what is holding me back
Not death through physical means
The separation of heart to mind, mind to heart, heart to heart

Make this new foundation
Begin this year with a new start
Realization, generation, determination, flotation
My constellation

Screams heard down the boulevard
Quiet serenade of thousands of questions
The soldiers burning and the people choking
Singing their lines to no one

Asking not why they are dying...no
But why they had ever lived...

Superbly written, the flow is very good from begining to end. Would love to read part 2 also.

    Keep up the good work.
