Shadow

You lived a very bad life
But then my nana adopted you
She treated you so well
And she knew exactly what to do

She took you camping with her
And she cared for you each day
She couldn't love you more
And her love would never fade away

Shadow, you were a lovely dog
With your shiny, sleek, black coat
If I were to hold you in my arms
To heaven, I would float

You were blind and going deaf
But somehow you could see and hear
You saw through your heart
And filled my nana with cheer

She didn't wanna see you suffer
So she had to let you go
But she loves you with all her heart
She wanted you to know.....

(My nana's dog got put to sleep today and I just had to write a poem about it,)
