Thirsty

by Katran   Jan 19, 2007

I'm thirsty
I search for a drip, a dribble, a drop, within these walls
I find a puddle, muddy, murky
I gulp, it's bitter, yet I swallow
I'm thirsty
I continue my search within my confines
There is lots of water, yet it is squalid
I find a tiny droplet of clean, clear, untainted water
I slurp, its cool, fresh, pure, I swallow the droplet
I'm thirsty
I struggle, swim, out of my confines
I find pools of water
Some are rank and soiled
Some tarnished by their surrounds
Then I come across a sparkling pool
Clean, clear, unstained
I guzzle its sweet, untainted nectar
I gorge myself until I can swallow no more
I'm still thirsty
