Unless you mean it

by fvalconbridge   Jan 22, 2007

A feather light caress sparkles across the length of my pale face,
Why do it, unless you mean it?
Sweet meaningless promises are purred into my ear.
Why do it unless you mean it?
Shivers run down my body,
Effects,
Like fire to gas,
Butterfly kisses trace my skin,
Locking those unmade promises into my life and heart.
Why do it unless you mean it?
And then you ruin it. You say these words.
But you don’t understand.
Why the kisses? The hugs?
You know my past!
Don’t brake my heart!
Why do it unless you mean it!
But I should say.
Why do I push people who I love away?
Because I don’t mean it.
