Off The Edge

by winterseve28   Jan 23, 2007

You brush your hand across my face.
With a stroke as soft as feathers,
Deeper I sink in your embrace.
For there is where I find comfort.
But your touch is a strike of lightening,
As I brace for the impact,
It singes me like a branding.
And when you look into my eyes,
You send my essence spinning.
In the intensity of your gaze,
I feel my resistance thinning.
This feeling surely could grow no more,
As my chest cannot contain it
Better to tear away now,
There couldnt be a benefit.
Of risking the inevitable
And plummeting off the precipice
What is waiting at the bottom,
In finding, your touch the catalyst
But I would rather jump from the cliff,
And hit that rocky floor,
Than never feel your touch again
And my soul be cold once more
