Nothing Gold Stays. ( Contest Poem )

by Teria   Jan 23, 2007

Spring, oh yes, so far away.
Yet, we blossomed so freely.
Our dreams became one,
And our lives became fun.
Summer's but a fantasy,
So, majestic and beautiful.
Right by your side,
I could've waited forever.
As my love grew stronger,
My heart grew weaker.
Just as the leaves in the fall,
I began to fade quickly.
Lost you all at once,
While my soul became cold.
Awaiting winter so I fit in,
and you become my past.
Then, come spring..
You'll completely melt away,
Proven; Nothing Gold Stays.

* I loved the contest this was for.
You took one of xA Little Bit Dramaticsx poems, and you were to change it around, make it your own. ( Being allowed to use some of the same lines ) I tried to stay away from that, though.. Lol. So, this is what I got. And, I had fun doing it. :] *
