A beautiful life

by Teria   Jul 16, 2015

Night skies so dark
They scare the wolves
But butterflies follow
Trails of horses hooves
Not lost in the night,
They always find
Things turn out right

Beautiful colors of
Oceans so blue
It's as if they're sent from above
To rescue me and you.
Lighter than a feather
No harm to anyone
They suffer through the weather
Flying towards the brightened sun

A thousand miles is no feet
With wings like angels
The butterflies meet
To rescue hope, left entangled
A life so divine
To never be lost
Never confined
Freedom at no cost

I can see lots of potential in your work, I like the short lines, and the choppy pace, and also the idea of how you have inserted lots of fairy-tale like stuff like the horses, butterflies etc.

Nice job, welcome to the club.

The first two lines really caught me - I love the idea of wolves being scared by the night skies - and then the rest of the poem unfurled excellently. Good write.
